Paul, an Apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our savior and of Christ Jesus our hope, to Timothy, my true child in faith: grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. (1 Tim 1:1-2, 12-14)

The Letters to Timothy, as well as the Letter to Titus, are written in Saint Paul’s name. The three letters are called the Pastoral Epistles because they address the problems of the church and its ministries in a later age and reveal some of the challenges that the early Christian communities faced. Today we honor the name of the Virgin Mary from whom we received our Savior.
These reflections are a result of more than 40 years of ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. Most of these years I spent in the Diocese of Charlotte which covers Western North Carolina. Now I am retired, and live in Medellín, Colombia where I continue to serve as a priest in the Archdiocese of Medellín.
