I rejoiced because they said to me, "We will go up to the house of the LORD." (Psalm 122)
Many will come from the east and the west, and will recline with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the banquet in the Kingdom of heaven. (Mt 8:5-11)

Advent is a joyful journey to the banquet in the Kingdom of God. We get a foretaste in the Eucharist: O sacred banquet, in which Christ becomes our food, the memory of His passion is celebrated, the soul is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us. Today is World AIDS Day. We pray for all who are living with AIDS. We remember all our beloved dead. These reflections are a result of more than 40 years of ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. Most of these years I spent in the Diocese of Charlotte which covers Western North Carolina. Now I am retired, and live in Medellín, Colombia where I continue to serve as a priest in the Archdiocese of Medellín.
